Match Report: Ladies 4th XI 16 March

Yateley 4-0 Wallingford

Following a below par performance last week the Ladies 4s had strict instructions for a hearty breakfast and high energy levels for their game away to Wallingford. They obviously followed those instructions to the letter and came out with intent. Lucy commanded the midfield with some great individual runs, Caroline, Helen and Sophie all pushing up in the Wallingford circle making the defence work hard. Sophie R won a short corner close to the half time mark and Lianne struck it well to go one up. Yateley were on the front foot when Mathi picked the ball up at the half way line and dribbled it all the way into the circle then slotted it home – 2-0 at half time.

Encouraging words and sugar at half time meant Yateley continued their attacking play early in the second half – great link up play from Lucy and Jo to the forwards meant a flurry of short corners and another Lianne clean strike thudded the backboard. Yateley kept the pressure up and Caroline scored a great 4th goal in open play. Wallingford were not to be outdone though and linked up their midfield and forwards a number of times however Sophie M, Vicki and Kerry dealt with the threat well. Tabitha commanded her circle and even when Wallingford were awarded a couple of short corners and we kept a clean sheet.

A fabulous 4-0 win for the awesome 4s – a wonderful team performance. MoM was awarded to Lianne and no DOD this week – we were all just too good!!
