Yateley 0-9 Armed Forces

The Yateley ladies over 35’s looked spritely as they faced their first cup game against the Uk armed forces. They knew it was going to be a very tough game and Yateley defended well in the first 5 minutes and made a few advances towards the oppos D.

Yateley looked the stronger side at one point for all of 5 seconds, but this didn’t dampen our spirits... We stayed strong and ran our socks off, everyone putting in their best and never giving up. Jo changed sports and her feet were the best form of defence.

The supporters on the sideline kept the encouragement going and with a wayward hit from JCG had to all duck out the way. They were lucky enough to watch a fabulously drilled Army side use every inch of the pitch, and a Yateley side battle hard to contain them.

At half time we were 4-0 down but still within our ‘under double digits’ target!

The army side came out even more determined in the second half and the goals kept coming.

The Yateley overs couldn’t be faulted for their efforts and had a few thwarted attempts in their quarter, but the final score was 9-0.....(within target!!)
