Yateley 3-2 Wycombe

The W3 were really keen for a win to boost their position in the league. Despite the early start, there was great focus right from the off. A fabulous aerial take from Sharon off a short corner rebound put the team ahead in the first quarter. There were strong attacks from Wycombe, but well covered with saves from Lucie and fantastic blocks by MOM, Carole.
Slightly against the run of play, Wycombe capitalised on the break to make it even Steven’s at half time.

Second half (when we did switch ends, DOD Orla!), saw some lovely hockey from the Ladies in Red. Another great goal from a well-placed super-sub, Sharon. Despite Sarah, Caz & Sprout holding control in the midfield, Wycombe did a great job in overloading up front resulting in a circle upgrade - they scored with a straight strike at the top of the D to even things up again.

Flippa & Nicki then held things tight at the back with clearances up to Lucy, Meinke and Daisy. The pressure paid off with a winning goal from Daisy. Fantastic to get a win and more points on the board.
