Yateley 2-1 Staines

In a chilly lunchtime clash at the Red Fortress, Yateley 3s faced off against Staines 3. Despite missing their skipper and goalkeeper Helen, who was called up to play for the Ladies 2s, Yateley 3s were determined to put on a strong performance. Nicki stepped up to captain the team, while Zara made her senior team debut in goal, bravely taking over her mum’s position between the posts.

Right from the start, Yateley exhibited some beautiful passing and attacking play, with Emily making her mark on the scoresheet after 17 minutes with a great goal from the right post, courtesy of some excellent advantage play called by the umpire. The team continued to press forward, and five minutes before halftime, a superb 1-2 pass between Sharon and Nicki resulted in Yateley's second goal, sending them into the break with a comfortable lead.

The second half proved to be a tough battle, but Yateley's defense held strong, with Flippa, Carol, and Alyssa putting in solid performances, consistently clearing the ball out of their defensive D. Charlotte and Jo pushed up creating numerous opportunities, while Niamh fought valiantly in midfield.

However, it was Zara who stole the show, earning herself Player of the Match for her performance in goal, making crucial saves and commanding her area with confidence.

In the end, Yateley 3s emerged victorious with a commendable display of teamwork and determination, securing a memorable win at the Red Fortress.
