Match Report: Ladies 3rd XI 9th Nov

Yateley 3-3 Salisbury

Yateley 3s played Salisbury at 3pm in a massive downpour. We fought hard with some excellent passes by Flippa & Carole. Despite the first half of the game being very tight, with the ball constantly moving up and down the pitch the half time whistle blew with a 1-2 scoreline in the visitors favour after some lucky shots by Salisbury and well-earned strike home by Jax.

After a few jelly babies & great team talk, we started the second half, soggy but ready to come back harder than before. With a great pass from Flippa to our forward line who advanced up the pitch with a slick pass to Hattie, who slotted home Yateley’s second to level the match!

With more determination than ever, the team kept the pressure on, but were equally matched by Salisbury who rammed home a terrific shot from a quick break. Undeterred and still goal-hungry, Jax scored again in a goal line scramble to level the scores yet again!

The final 3 minutes required tight defence by the home team, with heightened tension as Salisbury pushed forward again. Brilliant defence in the Yateley 25 by Hannah, Nay & Maddy meant the score was held at 3:3.

A shout out to Chantal & Carole for a delicious, warming curry for tea as we voted Jax as our player of the match & Freya as or DoD.
