Alton 7-0 Yateley
After a bit of team re-shuffling across the ladies sides this week, a tough game was on the schedule for the ladies 3s with a top of the table draw.
While Yateley settled into the game, Alton took an early lead with a couple of textbook strikes just inside the D and took the score to 2-0. In true Yateley spirit, the ladies kept their heads up and soon put the Alton defence under pressure. After a couple of unsuccessful short corners, Alton were quick on the break and managed to slot some more goals past the Yateley defence.
In the second half, ‘MOM’ goalie Helen was kept busy with a barrage of shots on goal from the young Alton attackers. The spectators were wowed by Helen saving a tricky ball to the chest and Skippa Flippa‘s nifty stick skills to stop an aerial shot at goal from a penalty corner.
Despite some fantastic goalkeeping and all the ladies ‘digging deep’, at the final whistle the score was 7-0 to Alton.
Onwards and upwards...the ladies are now hungry for a win in their next game: Sat 2nd Nov, 4.30 home against Portsmouth.
