Great fighting back in 2nd half, but not time to clinch the deal...

Yateley 2-4 New Forest

The Yately 2's where a bit of a mixture of a team this week with injuries continuing to cause the squad some issues, but with some club support a strong team came out to play New Forest 2's.

New Forest unfortunately managed to score in the first 5 minutes and although the Yateley team were fighting hard and working back a fearsome stroke from the opposition caused another goal.

Yateley pushed up with some good runs up the wing and had some shots on goal but new forest quickly turned it around and were attacking again with a ball to the wrist, Lucy had to have a short welcome rest.

A short corner for New forest resulted in another goal but with some resistance to some pushing from new forest Bex managed to get a short corner for Yateley which unfortunately did not get the outcome we wanted.
At half time we were looking at 4-0 but with some team screaming from KJ and a good team talk we were ready to win the 2nd half.

Yateley started out strongly with Dina as a strong central central pivot using Hobbit and Jo nicely to move the ball around and we started attacking effectively up the wings. Yateley were pushing the attack and we could feel a goal build a great pass into the D gave Nat the opportunity to get her first goal back after injury!

With the Yateley heads up, although New Forest were in a strong attacking position again the defence worked well together with the inners pulling back to ensure we worked together as a team. During a trackback and winning the ball Bex rolled her ankle but became a key cheerleader on the side of the pitch for the remainder of the 2nd half. New Forest were starting to get frustrated which caused a little argy bargy with captain JGJ. With the momentum building Hattie managed to get Yateleys 2nd goal of the match.

The game continued at a good pace with everyone digging deep to keep the momentum going but due to the limited time of the match Yateley were unable to even the score but won the 2nd half nonetheless.
