Match Report: Ladies 2nd XI 18 Nov

Maidenhead 0-2 Yateley

This Saturday we were away for a late night play around in Maidenhead. After our hike to the changing rooms we were thoroughly warmed up and raring to go!

We were all ball hungry and really setting the press. Due to our determination a ball passed beautifully from Clara onto Janette and soared straight into the top corner.

We set back ready to go and an unfortunate Jules injury left us with no subs, so we had to work even harder.

The ball had a quick turn around giving our defence opportunity to showcase their skills. Nevertheless we persevered and an effortless run and perfect hit from Alana secured us goal number 2.

Going into the second half positively, our pressure was great and we kept fighting.

There was some excellent play along the left from India and fantastic fight from Jess. Despite our efforts, the ball was all over the pitch resulting in the oppo having a few shots at Gill having her make some absolutely gorgeous saves (including some flight time). Amber (meaning flash from the incredibles) rapidly ran across the pitch, went to have a shot on goal resulting in her winning us a short corner. Even with the perfect injection from J and a strong hit from Dobbers, the keeper managed to keep us out. A few more minutes of running, we heard an amazing sound…the whistle.

Final score 2-0, 3 points and a clean sheet!!
