Yateley 6-2 Marlow
Yateley 2s went into their game trailing a few points behind a mid table Marlow and came out strong. An early short corner put the Reds behind, but a strong baseline run from Millie brought the first goal - a cheeky little shot between the keeper and the near post. Momentum kept the Reds going and some lovely possession play brought an attacking short. Centre back Dobbers' new role as 1st strike brought the second goal.
Excellent work from Yateley defenders kept Marlow away from the goal for most of the half but with a few minutes to go, another defensive short had keeper Gill making repetitive saves, but with an overloaded D, she was unable to maintain the momentum and conceded the third shot making the scores level going into half time.
A rousing half time team talk and the Reds came out fighting to win an early short corner. Hattie had the first strike but when the rebound came it was Dobbers who finished it - undercutting the ball into the top corner. Hattie followed it up not long after with a beautiful reverse sweep.
More excellent defensive work from Dobbers and the gang (special mention to 1s keeper Abi for stepping in at the last minute to play centre back) kept the ball moving forward. Another attacking short and Janette's persistence in front of the keeper had Yateley up 5-2. Strength in the midfield leading to persistent attacks brought the final goal from Hattie.
MoM- Dobbers for a spectacular performance and some rare goals
