Match Report: Ladies 2nd XI 23 Sep

Yateley 2-7 Marlow

Unfortunately our 1st league game was against a team who have come down from the division above us and they’re obviously determined to bounce straight back up again! ie we came 2nd!!

Without the tireless efforts of our defence: Hobbit, Nicki, Carole, Hils, Sharon & Victoria the score line could have been much worse that the eventual 7-2 loss. And what can we say about keeper Gill showing her amazing agility and tenacity throughout the game. She was just pipped to the post for Player of the Match by youngster Lauren on her first 2s game.

Our attackers: Milly, Amber, Janette & Clara supported by Jules, Jess & Lauren hin the middle never gave up. Determination & teamwork gave us 2 goals in the first half finished off by Milly & Lauren.

DoD was Sharon for: falling on, squashing, jumping on, landing on, going on top of Gill! An impressive variety of vocabulary to describe the fate of our overworked Goalie, Gill!

A special mention to Victoria who did a charity skydive in the morning then came straight to the match! Anything to play her first league game since joining Yateley HC this season.
