Match Report Ladies 2nd XI 9 Sep

Woking 3-0 Yateley

Ladies 2s travelled to Woking for our 1st game of the 2023-24 season. Unfortunately it was over 30 degrees so it wasn’t really a hockey match, it was more of a mad endurance trial!

As soon as we started trying to put on our socks and shin pads for our lunchtime friendly we were wondering what we were doing! We somehow managed to play for 2 15 minute quarters in the blistering heat before sanity struck and an almost unanimous decision was made to abandon the fixture.

Thanks to our Uni-bound girls Hattie, Sienna & Rachel for joining us today. We’ll miss having you with us every week but know you’ll all have lots of fun - and do some studying! Welcome Victoria & Clara to YHC, sorry you didn’t have a full game for your first fixture with the club! Hobbit & Jules are back firing on all cylinders after injures spoilt last season for them.

Dobbers saved several goals with her solid defending along with Gill who was melting in goal.

Amber was very close to scoring, she just couldn’t quite scope the ball out from under the goalie! Jess, with youth on her side, was running around lots in midfield and captain Hils just wanted the temperature turned down a little!
