From the beginning Yateley were on the front foot, with Clara picking the ball up on the half way line and driving through into the circle for a solid strike that put Yateley 1-0 up within 5 mins.

The rest of the half was spent making repeated attempts into the attacking circle and fending of occasional counter attacks. Yateley's new press was airtight, Ellen and Ellen had lots of shots on goal, and the defense was solid throughout.

Half time came and one rousing team talk later, Yateley were back out to try and repeat the success of the first half. Possession was mixed with plenty of drives down the line from Clara and Ellen B, before Captain Ellen made a brilliant pass to Belle who beat the keeper on the post.

Basingstoke rallied and got one goal back after a messy scramble in the Yateley circle but momentum was all Yateley and the game finished a well fought 2-1. (And yet we weren't finished. Post match cool down was shuttle sprints ?)
