? Yateley Women vs Camberley & Farnborough — Match Report
The pre‑game prediction was a cautious 4–1, but Yateley wasted no time proving just how wrong that would be.
From the first whistle, Yateley’s press was electric — hunting in packs, turning over possession, and setting the tone. Captain Ellen opened the scoring with a confident finish, leading from the front and establishing the standard for the afternoon. Moments later, Ellen B added the second, capitalising on the strength of our new press.
Goal three came courtesy of Belle, perfectly positioned on the back post for a tidy first‑touch tap‑in. Yateley were flying!
Captain Ellen struck again soon after — a moment of sharp eye contact from the 16, one pass in, a roll at the top of the D, and the ball smashed through to the backboard.
She wasn’t done. Ellen’s fifth goal followed quickly, unstoppable and full of intent. (Did we see it delivered from an aerial….?)
Camberley & Farnborough finally broke into our defensive 25, earning a short corner, but the back line and keeper dealt with it calmly. Yateley responded instantly, moving the ball up the pitch with purpose, and Belle slotted home our sixth.
Straight from the restart, crisp passing found Tescos in the D, who fired in a clean strike for 7–0.
Half time
A quick whiteboard moment for the visual learners, water, sweets, and straight back out.
Second half
Yateley restarted with the same intensity, and Belle wasted no time, smashing in another from the top of the D.
Camberley & Farnborough pushed through with a strong ball and grabbed their first goal of the game, making it 8–1.
Yateley answered with a short corner, a narrow miss but a second short called - No.3 variation this time, and Clara sprinting to the back post got the final touch — adding her name to the growing list of scorers and taking us to 9–1.
With some positional tweaks to test combinations for the season, Camberley & Farnborough managed a long hit from 16 to 16. A looping deflection sent the ball over everyone and into the goal — 9–2.
But Yateley weren’t finished.
Lizzie glided through midfield, ran smoothly into the D, and won another short corner. Back to the injector was called, and Captain Ellen delivered yet again — our 10th of the match.
Moments later, Belle stormed into the D and added number 11.
And to finish in style, Captain Ellen — leading from the front all game — scored her fifth of the day and Yateley’s 12th.
Full time
A superb performance full of skill, determination, and teamwork. An exciting and promising start to the Yateley Women’s season.
Bring on the first game of the season!!
