Match Report: under 14 Girls 13th Oct

Aldershot & Farnham 1-3 Yateley

On a grey and wet Sunday morning the u14 girls took on Aldershot and Farnham away. With a squad of just 11 and a brave u12 goalie as a sub, they got off to a bit of a slow start but as the minutes ticked on they began to wake up. An early save from Zara shook the defence and Sophie and Cara worked to clear the ball from defence and some lovely play by Millie B and Gabi and Charlotte in midfield saw the play progress up the pitch. Lila made some great progress in attack but a&f defence stood strong. 0-0 after the first 20!

A little team talk saw yateley go back out full of enthusiasm and a debut from u12’s new keeper, Tess. A&f pushed froward early and After a brilliant 1st save from Tess, the ball just managed to cross the line.

All credit to the girls as they then fought on with even more gusto, some lovely passes from Rebecca to Grace, Milly H and Lila up front, resulted in Lila scoring an equaliser.

After the second 3rd, a few more sweets and a gentle reminder on marking, the girls came into their own, and had attack after attack whilst Dee made sure the next few attacks by A&F were thwarted and the ball was quickly turned over, back into attack.

Our second short corner was won and a strike by Cara was saved with Lila scoring from a rebound. The girls all started working for for each other and after countless chances in the D by Grace and Milly H, Lila scored another cracking goal. A great result in a well fought game.
