Yateley produce a superb performance to come back from one down to win against Camberley on Sunday.
Everything we have worked on over the season was on show; shape, layered defending, closing down, looking up and passing, moving off the ball, battling for each other and quality when it counted.
The first third was very close with both sides having periods of territorial advantage and we went into the first break without either goalkeeper being troubled. The second third was just as close but Camberley began to force a few short corners and it was from one of these that they scored.
In the last third Yateley turned up the heat and Yateley's desire to win started to show through. After a period of pressure they got a short corner which was calmly converted with a reverse stick shot by Sam Burnett. Both teams pressed for the winner but Yateley provided the necessary quality when Sam converted another short corner, this time with a conventional strike into the corner.
All players battles like their lives depended on it and managed to hold out to the end limiting Camberley to just a handful of chances that were capably dealt with by Sam Chapman.
Camberley started the day 2 places and 8 points ahead of Yateley in the league so this was an excellent and well deserved victory.
Well done boys.
