Yateley U14 Boys Win

After three heavy defeats this was the first game where we were able to compete on an equal footing with the opposition and the boys applied themselves excellently.
We went ahead in the first third with an excellent passing move from Lucas to Liam then Liam passed the goalkeeper out of the game for Matt to finish.
In the second third we started to play the ball a bit too long and didn't play so many short passes, which gave Winchester hope and allowed them into the game, but we continued to defend resolutely and Liam hit the post at the other end on the break.
In the end we managed to hold out for the victory and record an excellent clean sheet for Jerome.
Well done to all the boys for an excellent effort today.
We are making progress and should definately be a tough team for anyone outside of the top 4 sides to beat, especially if we keep the passing game going like we did in the first quarter today.
