Match Report: Men’s 4th XI 12th Oct

Yateley 2-2 Alton

Yateley Men's 4s had an early start on a wet Saturday at home against Alton.

We started strongly, keeping posession and working up the pitch. A driving base line run won us our first short corner and JC scored to give us an early lead.

Keeping the pressure on we soon won another short and Liam scored this time to put us 2 ahead.

The second half chat from Alton must have been a strongly worded affair and they came back scoring 2 goals in the second half to level the game.

Solid defence and goal keeping prevented Alton from getting anything else from the game and Yateley kept up the attack creating plenty of chances.

We won a short as the whistle went for full time and everyone went up to pile on the pressure and try and get the win.
Our first attempt resulted in another short corner, and a scrambling Alton defence somehow kept the ball out to draw the match.

An all-round great team performance and definitely something to build on going forward.
