The Yateley 4's Team were a mix of 4's and 6's, so not playing together and fitness was a stumbling block for us. We started strong Darren Skinner and Jon Underwood provinding some real good attacks through the center with Dave Franklin doing some excellent runs down the right wing. Unfortunately against the run of play from a Short Corner Trojans took the lead and then to make matters worse a lapse in concentration at the back led Trojans to another. It was then that we found it difficult to keep up with the young strong side of Trojans. Rob Hooker was absolutley faultless in between the sticks, the score would have been embarrasing was it not for him and deserved the MOM. Half time could not come quickly enough. Then we had our second wind, the passing was good the attacking even better, Dane Salter moved into a more attacking role and this provided aid to Darren Skinner and Jon Underwood, Trojans found it very difficult to keep us out. Then the break through, A Yateley attack started by Darren Skinner ended with Dane Salter just inside their 25, a superb solo run with a finish of all finishes, skinning 2 players and then cool as you like reverse flick top corner, Keeper had no chance, from this moment on the momentum was with Yateley, but their Forward Jase Kean was not firing on all cylinders and missed 3 easy sitters. The final whistle came, the game deserved to end in a draw but not to be, next week away to Gillingham, we should do better.
