Yateley 4s narrowly beat Fareham 1-0, in a competitive match at Sandhurst. Traffic and car trouble meant that the game started late with Fareham only having the bare minimum 7 players. Yateley, with only 10 of their own, struggled to keep patient and composed creating too few chances and squandering badly those they did. After 25 minutes Yateley’s pressure finally told with Jason Kean finishing well after a cross from the right. At half-time strong words were said as a much improved performance was required now that Fareham last car had arrived and they were at full strength. The 10 men of Yateley battled resiliently in the 2nd half, even having to play the last 10 minutess with 9 men after an unnecessary yellow card. Matt Doyle received the MOTM award for his exceptional work rate, which typified Yateley (in the 2nd half at least!)
