Yateley came into the game as clear underdogs but showed plenty of promise from the whistle, attacking the opponents on the counter after soaking up a continuous bout of pressure. It wasn't long before Yateley took advantage in this very open match up, when the ball fell to Andy speed who brought it onto his reverse at the top of the D and fiercely struck the ball top left hand corner of the net. Petersfield kept piling numbers forward attack after attack and eventually paid dividends scoring two goals In quick succession, bringing the first half to a close. Yateley were in no sense depleated and freshened up ready to steal the points back. Although petersfield oozed buckets full of skill, their weakness laid in defensive communication and trash talking. Gaps opened up for the reds allowing a hat full of chances to the strikers, yet no one was able to penetrate much to the relief of the opposition. With Yateley pressing hard tiredness started to kick in, leaving plenty of space for petersfield to exploit. Only time would determine the end result. Countless blocks and picks from the Yateley defence just couldn't hault the possession and with the last 10 minutes to play a flurry of goals peppered the Yateley net bringing the scoreline to 5-1. The reds will feel very hard done by as the result didn't reflect the effort each member contributed yet is flattering to the opposition.
