Match report M1 vs Aylesbury
First game of the new season saw Yateley travel the long journey to Aylesbury - hoping to carry on their pre season momentum.
Yateley started quickly, converting a short corner in the first 5 minutes and helped to settle the first game nerves.
Aylesbury responded with a goal of their own around 20 minutes in, after a ball slipped through the Yateley press and was tipped in by a striker lurking on the outside of the post.
Yateley answered back with a 2nd converted corner sneaking in-between the legs of the postman and giving Yateley back the lead just before half time.
The second half became an exercise of grit and determination. Yateley had a number of corners but were denied repeatedly by post men deflecting efforts wide.
A number of highlight reel quality saves by Yateleys new keeper kept them ahead, but a well taken flick by the Aylesbury striker managed to level the match with 6 minutes to go.
Given the performance coming away with a single point was unfortunate but it has laid the foundations for a good season ahead.
