Hard fought battle …

Yateley 2-5 Newbury

In a highly anticipated face-off at Yateley's home pitch, Yateley Hockey Club took on Newbury Hockey Club, only to suffer a 5-2 defeat. The game got off to a blazing start with a close-range goal from striker Dougie Joyce in the fifth minute, courtesy of Jacob's superb reverse stick cross. Newbury managed to level the score at 1-1, but Yateley surged ahead with a drag flick from Chris Tomlinson in the 20th minute. Tragedy struck for Yateley, however, as two significant injuries before half-time allowed Newbury to lead 3-2. In the second half, Newbury extended their advantage with two more goals, leaving many young fans disappointed.

The match began with an electrifying atmosphere at Yateley's home ground. Yateley showed their intent right from the start, with a brilliant display of teamwork.
