Blistering start to the season!

Ashford 3-0 Yateley

A sunny Saturday to kick off the new season for the Ladies 3’s. Despite it being a friendly, it was a chance for our players to show true Yateley Spirit, work hard and have fun!
A fab start to the first half with the girls making lots of runs into space and putting into practice what we have done in training which paid off as this created lots of scoring opportunities.
Short corners then came in succession for us but the ball just wasn’t making it to the back off the goal.
But in true 3’s style we never gave up! With lots of encouragement from our Skippa Flippa, we made some lovely 1-2 passes which allows the ball to be played up the pitch.
This left us at 0-0 at half time. Determined to continue fighting on, despite the unusual September heat we were experiencing, it certainly had an affect on us and it took a while to get our heads in the game during the 2nd half.
This lead to Ashford scoring a goal early on in this half.
Frustrating.... but we kept on fighting and even had a narrow miss on the far post. Everyone continued to battle on running their socks off and showing some great skills to get around the opposition.
A new team this season but a fab start showing the potential we have as a squad

MOM - Sienna - fantastic running all over the pitch.
DOD - Anna - Gin sweats and Na - where is the pitch?
