Yateley 0-4 Havant

As we reached the final league game before the Christmas break, Yateley Ladies 2s were eager to close proceedings as they had started them, with a win. However this week’s opponents, Havant 3s who were sitting once place above us in 2nd were not going to make it an easy t ask.

With Captain Janette still out injured, Dobbers stepped up to the plate to lead the team. Yateley started the game strong, playing with intensity and purpose, with the majority of possession during the first half. However, Havant’s pace when attacking and deflected short corner meant that Yateley headed into half time 2-0 down.

The second half saw a number of close chances for Yateley, with forwards Nat, KJ and Hattie unlucky not to find the back of the net. However, another short for Havant and their infamous lob tactic brought the score to 3-0. Yateley preservered, but Havant were able to make the most out of a Yateley error to score their fourth of the game.

The game concluded with a Havant flick, only to be put wide and not add anymore insult to this Yateley injury. Overall a frustrating result for the 2s, but we are ready to come back fighting after the christmas break!
