Season first with Fleet and Ewshott festival!

Today was the first Festival of the season and being the first, we know that we tend to have a lot of nervous players, who need reassurance and sometimes a helping hand.

Today felt different......and we didn't let the rain dampen our spirits, not one bit. After the first game all nerves were quashed and the players in red came out with fighting spirit. They played a total of 9 games. Effectively a FULL adult hockey game over 3hours - this is hard for an adult, let alone a child.

We had V-drags being pulled out, left, right and centre. There were back passes, good spread of play. And most importantly every player got stuck in....oh and we had GOALS!!!
Gibo would like to thank every player for putting100% in today:
George - for his outstanding stepping into tackles
Bella -for being the BEST dinkiest sweeper (she recieved a massive cheer for this).
Ione - for listening to me and switching her grip when asked
Oscar - brilliant lending runs and attacking strategy
Zara - for never giving up and getting stuck in
Oliver - working in a pass and follow method and showing them spirit by offering to defend
Ben - for listening and using his defending channels
Lucy - for stepping in to tackles and moving into space
Check out the scores:
1-0 W
1-2 L
1-0 W
0-0 D
0-1 L
0-0 D
1-1 D
0-2 L
1-0 W
Effectively we Won 3, Drew 3 & Lost 3.....an OUTSTANDING result.

Would like to add a couple of Thank Yous:
Hattie, Clara and Lizzie for supporting these players. Your time on pitch is never unnoticed and your support is invaluable.
Team Gordon (U8's Managers - Sarah and Tom Gordon) for keeping us in check, so we didn't miss a match.
To the parents - for your awesome cheering and enthusiasm.
Well Done Everyone.
See you all at training next Sunday 9-10am
