Excellent team performance against top of the League #proudskippaflippa

Hamble 2-4 Yateley

It was an early start for Yateley 3rds traveling down south to take on Hamble to what would be an epic Battle! Yateley started of strong keeping possession of the ball with excellent passing between the inners and attackers, with some good runs into the D and shots on goal but their defence was strong and, as said by Jackie Sleigh, old school, sticking to the attackers with little room to move…..

Our press started strong and was effective yet again this week, but when Hamble broke through our extended wall of Defence was solid and managed to keep the ball out of the D.

Keeper, Gill, made some amazing saves as always, but unfortunately after a long and exhausting fight to keep possession of the ball Hamble managed to score putting them in the lead 2-0 at half time.

We came back fighting after a good team chat telling each other how well we are doing, and to keep our heads in the game. Unfortunately, Hamble managed to score another goal, but we came back fighting with Freya sweeping the ball into the D and Jackie scoring our first goal.

Hamble scored again but Naomi, our man of the match, wasn’t having any of it & managed to score Yateley another gaol bringing us to a final score of 4-2.

We played amazing hockey and worked really well as a team, we should be very proud of ourselves, well done Yateley 3rds!
