Yateley 3-2 Salisbury

Finally a win for Yateley Men’s 1s! It was a great game from the start; everyone was up for it and raring to go. Buzzing for our first potential league win.

When the whistle was blown, we were pressuring well. It was a good first half with Dan Jones scoring the first goal via deflection at the P spot, with his stick angled perfectly to slip it straight into the left posts netting, so 1-0 to Yateley. Salisbury came back fighting with a short corner conversion from a well organised short corner routine.

Yateley were working well throughout the game, however some tempers got the better of us and we were a man down with a 2 minute suspension due to a green card, and it would not stop there due to a stick tackle another Yateley player got a yellow card shortly after the green. Salisbury saw a chance to capitalise on a weakened 10 man team, Salisbury scored to push them back into the game. Keeping composed Yateley got a short corner and scored a drag from the top D flicking it hard into the right bottom corner giving Yateley the motivation to battle on.

Keeping composed and trying to keep possession we finish the game with a 3-2 win. Yateley really wanted those 3 points and looking forward to more in the future!
