‘We won, we won, we won, we WON!!!!’ #calmandcontainedcaptaining

Yateley 3 Alton 0

With head coach Tom watching from the sidelines, the ladies 1s took the challenges they had been set and went about smashing them!

Lots of patient play and fabulous short, sharp (sometimes sideways) passing from the ladies was rewarded with a flurry of first half short corners, resulting in a great first half goal from captain, Jen C-G. With the 1-0 scoreline at halftime, the game came back to life with Yateley ladies applying more pressure to Alton with Gemma Baugh scoring a cracking goal from a crazy angle, boosting team morale further. Alton managed to get into the Yateley D a few times and had some opportunities to get on the score sheet, but were defeated by the good composure of the Yateley defence and some great saves by GK Nicki Smith. The ladies take the win, and some much needed goals, with a final goal from a short corner strike from Frances Carr.

"We won, we won, we won!!" Was the jubilant response from captain Jen C-G, playing her first full game since recovering from injury. Glad to have you back Jen!

The ladies would like to thank our fab sideline supporters for all the encouragement; it really does make a difference, (even the over-dressed Phil Cundy) and YHC President JB for umpiring the game.

Man of the match: Gemma Baugh
