Follow the man in tights!

Follow the man in tights!

Steve Maskell31 Jan 2015 - 09:25

Bucket ignores the critics to lead the way in gameweek 12.

Only a superb save from the Bomo ‘keeper denied him a hattrick and YHC a point.

So the guys pulled out another great performance last weekend but fell just short against a talented Bournemouth side, going down 3-2.

Once again, managers backing Paul Bockett-Pugh and Chris Hedges were well rewarded as PBP kept the tights on and notched 2 goals and MOM whilst Hedges clocked up another assist and came second in MOM and first in the kitchen.

What does this mean for the league table? Well Pearcy is at the top, followed by Becks. Given they have the same team, when will Becks make a push for the line ... Other notable risers are Mandy Moo HC, up another two places this week to 4th and Math star William Sealey, who is also up two places to 8th!!

As far as the nitty-gritty goes, here are the highlights and lowlights in each pot:

POT 1

Saxby and Joyce once again were top of pot 1, racking up 7 points each for starting, playing 70 minutes and training. Goodchild bagged himself a solid 5 after starting the match, training and finishing joint 3rd in the MOM voting. Lee Cresswell and Mikey Joyce bagged two points each at training. Unfortunately, Steve Maskell’s work commitments have caused him to lose his starting place in the side, and missing the meet time meant he drew a blank this week.

POT 2

PBP was once again victorious in the battle of pot 2, being in the right place at the right time to score twice from close range. Only a superb save from the Bomo ‘keeper denied him a hattrick and YHC a point. The 2 goals and MOM added to a start, a full 70 mins and training attendance to net 20 points after deducting 2 for a first half green card. Simmons was also shown an early green, but picked up an assist and also started, played 70 min and trained to bring his tally to 8.

POT 3

The pot that seems to get bigger every week could soon get even larger with the addition of youngster Dan Jones to the training squad since the New Year. With Darren Collins returning to training this week as well, pot 3 could be where the league is decided as the season gets ever closer to its finale. Having said that, there was no major movement here on Saturday. Sam Edwards’ Mum helped him by pitching in with a spot of washing up. He was also joint 3rd with Goody in MOM to top score pot 3 with 5. Pearcy was close behind with 4, followed by Stevenson with 3. The two Ls, Laskey and Lewis, only managed a point each after sharing the DOD award. Paul Lewis was penalised by his rather Neanderthal teammates for reading an actual book pre-game, whilst Mrs Laskey’s water bottle mix up cost her husband a point.

POT 4

As mentioned above, Hedges continues to set the pace in the forward line both on the pitch and on paper. His third assist in three games and another high MOM finish contributed to his 11 points, whilst Chris Hogg and Toby Fayers could only collect 4 and 3 points respectively.

So that was the story of gameweek 12, tune in again for another update after a third consecutive home game featuring another very strong Yateley XI this weekend.

No subs this weeks due to poor admin, so managers can make one next week.
