An early start for Yateley 3rds saying Goodbye to Yateley hockey club, setting off to take on Eastleigh.
On arriving we discovered a funky looking pitch, which later we will discover was like playing on ice - especially when wet. There was a lot of falling over (Naomi) and running into each other (Caroline and Chantal) this caused a lot of Holler amongst us.

The warm up seemed to be inspired by spice Girls songs, Lauren, Naomi and Jax being very concerned missing out on the chance to secure tickets, singing and dancing like Saturday Night Divas.

We started very strong With Caty driving the ball into the D setting up Naomi to score a fantastic goal, Spicing up our lives. Eastleigh attempted to score with the ball flying through the air, but Gill made an amazing save looking at the other team, as if asking who do you think you are? Yateley stayed strong but unfortunately Easleigh managed to score minutes before half time, bringing us to 1 all.

A quick motivational chat from Carol asking us what we want, what we really, really want! This made us come back fighting, with Freya doing fantastic dribbling, Jax receiving the ball and making clever passes and Caroline being in 3 different places at once. All getting the ball into the D for Yateley a few times, but the team just not being able to get a goal.

Alice was supporting both defence and attack and made us all Wannabe as fit as her. Lauren, Carol, Laura and Emily were strong, creating a wall forcing Eastleigh to Stop and were only able to reach their D a few times. Unfortunately, Eastleigh was given a short corner and scored their second goal, that brought us to the end result of 2-1 to Eastleigh.

We played a good game and we had fun. There was reason to celebrate in the end as Lauren, Naomi and Jax all managed to get tickets to Spice girls! Enjoy Ladies!!!
