Match Report: Ladies 3rd XI 4 Nov

Yateley 1-1 Amersham & Chalfont

The ladies 3's welcomed Amersham & Chalfont 6's, which started out in some nice sunshine.

The away team started strongly, with some good passing and moving, catching Yateley on the back foot. Within 5 mins, Yateley found themselves 0-1 down.

They soon setteled into the game and started to put some lovely passing together, working their way into the D. A run of 3 short corners unfortunately didn't result in the goal they had hoped for.

The second half saw a push from the home side. With some lovely movement by Rosie, Martha and India, and some strong tackling in the centre of the field by Flippa, Alyssa and Niamh, they managed to create some lovely opportunities across the face of goal.

Amersham were not giving up either, but with some excellent defending from Nikki, Carole and Leanne, and some great footwork by Helen in goal to deny a rebound of the post, they managed to stay within one for the majority of the game.

Late on into the game, the heavens opened and hail started lashing down. This didn’t faze the Reds, with Helen and Foley still pulling off lovely give and go passing down the left hand side. Some great play down the field and Caroline found herself at the top of the D, with her back to goal. A sly pass to her right hand side gave Emily the opportunity to stroke it passed the goalie into the bottom right hand corner. 3 Minutes to go and Yateley found themselves at 1-1.

With a short corner at the final whistle, Yateley had the opportunity to clinch it at the end. The ball came to the top of the D but quickly found itself going wide to the right hand side.

A dramatic end to the game, but all in all a well deserved draw.
