Match Report: Ladies 3rd XI 7 Oct

Yateley 0-0 Maidenhead

YHC L3’s faced, newly promoted, Maidenhead L5 at our home pitch, in yet more, unseasonably hot sunshine.

It was lovely to have Caroline and Hattie D returning to the pitch and to have Charlotte Adams joining us for her first league match.

We started strong and were soon setting the theme for the match, possession and interception.

Our young guns Niamh, India, Martha and Izzy were all over the ball with some lovely runs, picks and superb passes.

Rosie helped us set the press, stick in the air and a guiding yell of ‘middle’ helped us set with Flippa moving players left and right (no not that right, the other right)

Alyssa deservedly earned a new nickname from the opposition, The Wall, with seemingly nothing getting past her.

Flippa and Kerry picking up anything heading towards the D and Helen just needing to sort out the odd flurry that made it to our end.

We had more time in the oppo D than they had in ours but we just couldn’t find that little bit of space to get the ball over the line.

We felt like we deserved a win but both teams were quite evenly matched (until Tracey decided to be the 12th player on the pitch after half time).

We finished with a 0-0 draw but sneaking up the league, now in 5th place.
