Close game, but B’stoke too quick on the break..

Yateley 0-3 Basingstoke

The Ladies 2’s played their first friendly of the season with Janette Griffiths-Jones, their new skipper in tow.

They were 0-0 at the end of the 1st half, with everyone playing their socks off. There was lots of pressure put on the opposition whilst creating space and chances, but we just couldn’t convert a goal. Hattie was taken out by the keeper in the 2nd half, with an exciting and brave 1 on 1 battle, but the whistle just didn’t go our way. Our own keeper Gill, made some cracking saves, with Dobbers, Hils, Hobbit and Alice scaring off the opposition (literally) on a number of occasions.

We were strong in the middle with the ladies holding the fort nicely, and made some great breaks whilst running our hearts out throughout.

With a new format and many new faces in the team, it was a fantastic 1st match, despite the final score of 3-0, which were very quick break goals.

Well done to everyone who played, we know that the score did not reflect our performance.

MOM was our Dobbers for her solid and consistent (not on one occasion mind) defending skills.

DOD was Nat for ACTUALLY getting lost on the way to the pitch (our home ground I may add) due to some road closures and thinking that any of us would be able to assist with directions!
