Portsmouth 0-3 Yateley

Well the DoD outstanding nomination reared it’s head early when the Ladies 2s arrived at U.S. Portsmouth in our red socks - Janette had forgotten to remind us it was a white socks day!

With Hobbit off on her travels, Lucy not quite back from injury, Abi playing her violin and Lizzie working we had a rejigged defence and with Alice stepping up to help us.

Great teamwork all round, no one looked out of place in their roles for the day.

Dobbers, who was playing our pivot in midfield, can claim an assist for the 1st goal that was eventually pinged in by Alana (who tried to break her hand last week!) after most of the forwards had had a touch! Shortly afterwards Clara, at Left Inner, had a near miss after a calm drive into the D. Her 2nd attempt however found the spot and we went to halftime at 2-0.

The 2nd half saw more great teamwork, especially from Jules - our MoM - who was playing out of position at Right Half this week.

A 3rd and final goal by captain Janette showed she’s not forgotten how to score.

Lots of successfully defended short corners meant a clean sheet for GK Kate and the defence who stayed composed throughout.

A well deserved 3-0 win. Hopefully this is the start of a winning streak
