The Ladies 2s got back to winning ways this weekend in the sunshine at Eversley. Bottom of the table Haslemere arrived feeling confident after we struggled to snatch a last minute point in the reverse fixture which was a 3-3 draw.
We started well and dominated from the push back putting pressure on their defence, this eventually paid off when Janette swept in the first goal after a neat little pass into the D from Freya.
This seemed to spur Haslemere into action and they started to get into the game a bit more and a short corner then resulted in them equalising soon after, hitting a shot from the top of the D which unfortunately went through Kate's legs.
Our heads seemed to drop a little and we lowered our game pace to the oppositions level.
We all had a chat at half time and agreed that we had so many more goals in our side after so many crosses in towards the goal from Lizzie, Alana and Jules we just needed to convert them!
We raised our game in the 2nd half and dominated play once again, goal machine Janette got on the end of another through ball from Freya to score our 2nd. We wanted more goals though as a slender lead is never enough for us! Janette duly obliged with her hat-trick goal and Alana finished the game off after a long corner found her at the top of the D so she could crack one into the corner.
Next week brings a trip to Southampton to hopefully win and consolidate the 2s position in the top half of the table.
