Cup Semi final secured for the terrific 2s!

Petersfield 0 Yateley 4

The ladies 2s rolled out of bed nice and early to get to Petersfield with enough time for a team hair braiding session. However, after a last minute realisation that we were at the wrong pitch, a sudden dash to the right venue left Coxy looking like baby spice after a rough night and Lizzie securing herself the DOD title early on.

Despite the rushed warm up (or lack of) the team started well, and managed to secure the first goal of the game from Nat on the deflection. The team continued to battle, including Lizzie who was made to hit the deck about 3 times in as many minutes. With some positive play from the 2s, and solid defending from Dobbers, Hannah and Caz, we entered half time still ahead by one goal.

Shortly into the second half, Janette kept up the team tradition of being carded in Petersfield, for informing the umpire that he should have got a shift on and got out of her way. It wasn’t long before more goals came, with some textbook passing between the likes of Alana and Anna, and a cross from Lizzie to Nat to get her second of the game.

With the thought of a jug on the line, Nat again finished off a cross from Coxy to make it 3-0 to Yateley. Soon after Coxy was centimetres from getting on the scoresheet herself, agonisingly hitting the post.

The fourth and final goal came from Lynn, securing the Ladies 2s place in the semi-finals of the cup.

PoM: Nat
