Maidenhead 0-5 Yateley
Taking confidence from the previous week at Marlow, where the battle had to be fought until the last moment, this week saw some lovely hockey from the 2s.
The first half saw some dynamic triangles and team play which meant the opposition couldn't keep up with the ball. The theme of today was the 'follow-up'. Every time there was an interception, touch or tackle by Maidenhead, there was a Yateley player quickly challenging hard for the ball. This approach saw 4 goals in the first half, with rebounds being capitalised on, whether the first attempt was from a short corner or from open play.
Whether due to fatigue, or the arrival of Tom's instructions from the sideline, the second half still showed good play, but without the precision of the first half. Maidenhead showed frustration, but continued to press high and try and make ground down the lines. A further goal was gained in the second half but Dobbers is yet to complete her 23/24 season hat-trick. Always the unsung story, the defence remained solid and maintained a clean sheet, only conceding one penalty corner throughout the match.
One of the season's most polished games, really well done ladies!
Goals: Amber x2, Janette, Alana, India

DoD: Dobbers for falling over!
