....a late flurry gives a great 'start of season' boost!

Yateley 2-1 Romsey

It was the Ladies 1s first league match of the season against Romsey 2s and, whilst it was a wet affair weather wise, spirits were high and everyone was raring to go. With pre-season wins behind them the ladies started off at a fast pace and the work rate was high from everyone.
Yateley put a lot of pressure on Romsey in the first 20 minutes and the forwards had plenty of chances in the D but couldn't get the ball in the goal.

Towards the end of the first half and a lot of pressure from Yateley, Romsey suddenly broke and scored, 1-0 to Romsey.

Yateley kept their heads up and continued to work hard before regrouping at half-time.

The start of the second half saw a dip in accurate passing but eventually an interception, a pass into the D and a sharp shot from Mathew's resulted in the equaliser, 1-1.

Within a minute the second goal went in from Lynn, 2-1.

The pressure continued right up until the final whistle but it was a great win for the first league game.

Well played ladies!

MoM: Lynn Hogg for excellent work rate and first class goal!
DoD: Lizzie Messenger for water carrier failure!
