Cracking performance!

Yateley 4-0 Portsmouth & Southsea

Yateley Ladies 1s showed a confident start to their game against Portsmouth and Southsea with excellent passing throughout the field. A combination of positive encouragement from supporters and coach Tom on the sideline as well as consistent communication between players on the pitch meant that the team worked hard off the ball and passes were quick and accurate. The attackers made the most of upgrading opportunities in the D resulting in 6 attacking short corners in the first half, eventually finishing the first half 2 nil up.

After a positive team talk at half time, Yateley returned to the pitch focussed on releasing the ball earlier and spreading the play from side to side. This led to Lynn’s second goal of the game as Mel picked up the ball from a perfect pass sideways across the pitch from left to right, leaving her with masses of space to drive up the right she was able to pass into the D for Lynn to score.

A second wind from Portsmouth and Southsea towards the end of the game put pressure on the defence but clear thinking and composure meant Yateley Ladies were soon back in possession of the ball. No short corners were conceded and the defence were particularly delighted to maintain a clean sheet.

Man of the match went to Kealey & DoD to Lynn for wardrobe malfunction & dodgey teabags?!
