A mirror of England v All Blacks... soooo close!

Hamble 3-2 Yateley

Yateley Ladies 1’s headed down to Hamble with anticipation but motivation to play.

With a slight shuffle of players and positions, Yateley started off strong defensively and with some great saves by Nicki we weren’t allowing many chances for Hamble.

Yateley held their positions well but unfortunately Hamble managed to take on an early lead 1-0.

With support from Jen and on-pitch Captain, Gemma, we kept our heads and spirits up and remained strong and continued attacking which allowed us a few chances at goal.

Yateley managed to secure a penalty corner on the final whistle of the first half where Gemma smoothly scored and equaliser.

After a half time chat, under what felt like a monsoon, Yateley went into the second half with more motivation and determination. Demonstrated by an early attack and dribble through multiple players from Gemma, she slipped it to Bex who slammed it into the goal making us 2-1 up.

Although work rate was kept up through all players on the pitch, sadly Hamble came back fighting and managed to get an equaliser again.

Both teams carried on through the rain and hail with positive attitudes and great composure on the ball, but sadly Hamble managed to secure another goal making the final score 3-2 to Hamble.
