More Points on the boats to close out the season!

Yateley 2 Havant 2

The 1s played their last game of the season on Saturday to a vocal crowd at home.
It started with gusto and some really smooth attacking moves by Yateley, who deserved to go ahead with a score from Gemma - struck in from the rebound of a well-worked short corner routine.
The crowd were delighted when Anna’s shot from the top of the D was snuck home by Lozzer.

The Yateley defence remained solid until Havant cracked through a ‘Route 1’ ball; the speed of the visitors attackers split the Yateley defence and they were able to score following a great cross from the baseline, just before the half time break.

Havant took confidence from their late 1st half score and came back in fighting spirit after the break
putting the Yateley defence under continued pressure. Gemma was everywhere (despite receiving a stick to the knee), Jen CG continued to frustrate with amazing tackles and Nicki Smith kept Yateley in the lead with some simply amazing saves from a plethora of Havant strikes on goal.
Finally the home side pulled together some attacking breaks; Rachel P penetrating on the right and linking through to Lozzer in the centre with Caty supporting with great runs to create the space.
Havant broke back and were able to capitalise in their superior speed again with the equaliser.
It was a well fought match and great for the 1s to come away with points on the board from their final game, amplified by super support on the sideline!
