Yateley 3-2 C&F

After a mean defeat in the last game against A&F the U16 boys came back with a mighty bang today during their match against C&F at home. A 1600 start is never a pleasant one on a Sunday afternoon (for the parents mainly), but the boys arrived raring to go and full of the Yateley club spirit...

Team talk prior to the match was work hard for each other, trust each other and most importantly to enjoy the game!

Yateley completely dominated the game in the 1st half allowing our GK to nod off a few times...

They boys trusted each other immensely, passing round the back very confidently and using the width of the pitch, creating some great chances in the D, and winning short corners. Short sharp passes up and down the pitch were frustrating the oppo and it was a pleasure to watch the boys gelling.

The Yateley boys were first to every ball and kept the eyes down club mantra flowing! They worked their little red socks off and never gave up.

By half time the boys were 3-0 up with goals from Macca, Owen and Callum.

After a confident team talk at half time, and wiping clean the sweet box, the boys knew they had to go back out and keep the lead. Again, they fought hard but looked tired from the 1st half's intensity. C&F took advantage of this, and managed to somehow convert 2 goals from quick breaks, leaving us a little perturbed on the sideline.

However, Yateley knew they were onto a winner and would not concede, which they didn't. They showed their eagerness and desire to win the game and it worked a treat.

They won 3-2.

MOM (chosen by the boys) was Callum for his tenacity, drive, and effort he displayed all match - Well done.

Another shout out to JC who umpired the match for us - Thank you very much :-)
