Yateley 2-1 Havant

After a hard and slightly disappointing cup game we went into our first game of the second half of the season having reflected on the previous game we came out against Havant with determination and a new passion to win. With the coach on the sideline we felt confident and ready to prove all of what we have learnt and put a great performance. After a successful warm up everyone was prepared to finally take the 3 points we desired as we drew against them previously.
We set off at a flying pace, dominating Havant with excellent passing and perfect transfers with Shane Cresswell (man of the match) being the main pivot in the back line and organising the defensive line creating the gaps the Havant defence allowing the forwards to pick up the ball without pressure. As the half time whistle blew we were confident that we could score as we had most of the possession throughout the half. We came into the second half just as intense as the first and the goal that had been waiting in the wings finally showed itself with a brilliant pass from Dan Jones leading to Jake Smith one on one with the Havant keeper resulting in the first goal.
Now with our spirits raised further we sought after more but due to a defensive foul leading to a opposition short corner, which lead to a scrappy Havant goal, but that didn’t demoralise us we kept fighting and soon we scored another, a beautiful short corner by the name of “Doris” leads to Dan Jones slotting a second past Havant. As tempers flared from the Havant side we stayed calm and collected to see the game out 2-1 we ended the game ten players due to Dougy Joyce receiving a yellow card for an awful tackle.
Great game lads looking forward to next week.
